Background

This webpage provides information on procedures to measure and control minimum outdoor air ventilation rates in commercial buildings. The topics below focus on commercial buildings in California that are subject to California's Building Energy Efficiency Title 24 Standards. However, much of the information is more broadly applicable to offices, classrooms, and other general use commercial buildings that are mechanically ventilated.

The content of above topics was developed as part of a research project on measurement and control of ventilation rates in commercial buildings. The research was performed by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory with support from the Public Interest Energy Research, Natural Gas Energy Research program of the California Energy Commission.
